Cat hair, for me it’s a love hate relationship. I absolutely adore it on my furry rascal, it raises his cuddle level to 3000 and it just makes him so adorable!
That said, this beauty comes with a cost, his hairs completely destroy my sinuses. Lilo likes to cuddle up with me at night and this results in me sounding like Darth Vader the next morning.
I do not regret a thing, this constant battle I have with hairs are completely worth it and I would do it again, no hesitation. That being said, I don’t just accept a bunch of hair to be covering the house or my clothes for that matter.
I thought I’d share with you my list of best products to remove hair from your home and your person; giving you the edge and maybe even let you come out on top in this hair battle. Some of these I have used personally and know they work. Others, I have scoured the internet for reviews and wouldn’t doubt to recommend these to people.

Best For Furniture
ACE2ACE PET HAIR REMOVER ROLLER
£9.59 (Amazon)
Reviews: 5755
Average Rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars
This roller is simple and effective. You move it like a hand vacuum and it picks up literally all hairs in its path. This product is a life saver. It is perfect for carpets, bedding, chairs and any other fabric furniture. It works great on sofas too. The only downside is if your sofas’ cushions are fixed, then you’ll probably find it hard to get in the creases and also carful where you place your hand. I once foolishly got caught up in the hair pulling, (I was in a mad frenzy) and my hand pushed the button to open the compartment that stores the hair, making it all come out. Thankfully its pretty much all bunched together so its easy to recollect. Always would recommend this product.
GONZO PET HAIR LIFTER
£14.20 Inc. Shipping (Amazon)
Reviews: 1943
Average Rating: 3.9 out of 5 stars
This one does have a lower rating and that is because it relies on technique. Firstly, just because it looks like a sponge do not use it wet or damp. It needs to be dryer than a cat's tongue. Now the movement, I found that small circular motions seem to work best on fabric surfaces. The good thing about this one compared to the one above is that it gets into those creases; for these tighter parts I’d only use back-and forth movements. The great thing about this product is that it can also pick up hair from hard surfaces such as, wooden baseboards.
Best Around The House
BEST BROOM
EVRIHOLDER FUREMOVER
£22.52 Inc. Shipping (Amazon)
Reviews: 31,468
Average Rating: 4.3 out of 5 stars
This is only really suited to hard floors. It’s rubber bristles create static attracting nearby hairs to it like a magnetic and ensuring they don’t fly away as you are sweeping. It’s great for collecting liquids as it has a squeegee edge. I have seen some videos of people using it on carpets and it does a good job for clumping the hair together but you still have to then go around the house picking it up with you’re hands, hence why I would only really recommend this if you have hard floors across your house, it does OK for carpeted stairs.
BEST VACUUM
DYSON BALL ANIMAL 2 UPRIGHT BAGLESS VACUUM CLEANER
£299 (Argos)
Reviews: 823
Average Rating: 4.6 out of 5 stars
This vacuum is on another league. It has helped a lot with my asthma. Yes, it is an investment, but what you get out of it is worth every penny. This vacuum and the ACE2ACE are my two weapons of choice in my house cleaning hair removal arsenal – it will leave you dancing like Christopher Walken. The only downside I can see is the price, if only it worked on clothes too… this would be the only product I’d have in my home.
BEST ROBOT
iROBOT ROOMBA i7+
£749 (Amazon)
Reviews: 4133
Average Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
We can all dream right? Also reeeelllax cause I doubt this one has enough power to turn against humanity. In all honesty if you are vacuuming everyday, you’re allergies are through the roof and this hair battle is knackering you out; then I would get this robot. It can be programmed to clean certain areas of your house. It works great to grab hairs, pollen and dust, and the best part is that it empties itself; so you don’t have to worry about doing anything for 60 days. You will have to unjam it if it sucks up something that blocks its suction and it will let you know through a phone notification. If I had £749 to spare, I’d rather spend it on something else, simply because it’s a luxury in my eyes not a necessity. However I do believe that for what it can do, it is a good price.
Best Pet Grooming Brush
PET NEAT PET GROOMING BRUSH
£10.99 (Amazon)
Reviews: 26,633
Average Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
This is a de-shedding tool that helps you remove any excess fur from you cat before it falls and spreads across your home. This brush has stainless steel bristles that are comfortable for your cat and have anti-rusting. Pet Neat also boasts that this is a product for life giving a 100% satisfaction guarantee. It works well but be aware with long thick coats you may have to take your time with it and do a few passes. Not everyone thinks it works too well with their long haired companions. That being said it is a good long-lasting all-rounder.
FURMINATOR UNDERCOAT DESHEDDING TOOL
£16.48 (Amazon)
Reviews: 5038
Average Rating: 4.7 out of 5 stars
This is more expensive than the Pet Neat however I personally prefer this one. Although the Furminator does not have a lifetime guarantee, it does work better for your cat because it has models specified to your cat’s hair length, ensuring the best results. It also has a button that releases all the hair it caught in its teeth; therefore you can brush with one hand whilst petting with the other. For the record, no problems listed with long coat cats.
Best For Your Clothes
EVERCARE MAGIK BRUSH
£16.85 Inc. Shipping (Amazon)
Reviews: 3341
Average Rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars
This is a good product that will last you a long time. Reading the reviews however there was a customer whose Magik brush broke almost instantly (I think this was a manufacturing fault). Bare in mind you will need to brush in various directions and also pass over a spot a couple of times but I have had that issue with other clothes rollers I’ve used. It will get the job done. The good thing is that it works on all fabrics / clothing and it’s small enough to be portable!
OXO FURLIFTER
£15 (Amazon)
Reviews: 6156
Average Rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars
This is a very hand tool to get hair off your clothes before you’re about to leave the house. It is very simple to use. There are arrows on the brush that show you which way to stroke, meaning you don’t need to worry about technique. Its got a nice compartment that acts as a holster and keeps all the hair that you pick up in one place. I would personally chose this one out of the two because of that storage compartment – it allows me to use it in a rush without having to run to a bin to throw away the hair I collected before running through the door.
I hope that this guide has helped you find some awesome products to keep your cat's hair under control. Hopefully you can find some great offers on the ones you like this Black Friday.
